Challenges associated with the spread of top runner motors and the effects of soft starters in solving them.
Many facilities are facing issues such as increased starting current, breaker malfunctions, and insufficient generator capacity. In particular, top runner motors (high-efficiency IE3 motors) have a starting current that is 1.1 to 1.4 times higher, increasing the burden compared to older motors (IE1). This has led to breaker trips and insufficient generator capacity.
